VideoPefume was installed on the 31st floor of an office tower. The building's tenants fill most of the spaces. But the 31st floor is unoccupied, without intermediary walls. The scale is disorienting with oversized windows offering a view of the busy downtown core and the harbour and mountains beyond.

The exhibition announcement mailer showed a middle class early 20th century bedroom, the flash of the camera in the mirror at the center of the image. Arriving on the 31st floor by high speed elevator, the visitor sits in the middle of the vast space and alongside a video of a freight elevator hears the intimacy of the narrator’s voice through headphones. I remember sitting at my mother's dressing table when I was a young girl.... begins the story of a perfume bottle handed down through three generations.
